Hi Friend!

This is a fairly quick, simple and easy craft for you and your children. Also a great way to recycle some of your scrapped paper.

All you will need in order to make a heart is paper, a ruler and scissors.

Take a strip of craft paper (about 7” long and 3/4” wide) or normal paper or you can cut strips out of magazines and newspapers. We used some of our wet-on-wet watercolored paper for this demonstration.

Then fold one corner over into a triangle.

In the next step, the paper strip gets folded over the triangle, and you continue to do this until you have a small triangle packet. The rest of the strip of paper gets cut off on the left and right (creating a pointy edge) and gets tucked into the triangle.

Using scissors, round the two longer corners of the triangle.

Take the nail of your thumb and press a dent into the long side of the triangle and shape it into a heart with the fingers of both of your hands.

Bonus

You can make a garland with several hearts using a very thin, fine sewing needle and some string. The garland looks especially beautiful hanging in a window, on a door or above your nature table.

Hi! I'm Jenn! I'm an ambitious, creative and natural mama of four awesome kids: Amy (born in 2010), Blake (2011), Cody (2013), Lulu (2014) - yeah my husband and I took a year off in 2012 - go ahead, call us lazy :) My husband Gerhard, our four kids and I live in America’s heartland on a small, in-town acreage in Iowa – but that is pretty new. We are still grounding after an international move from Germany. This is not an understatement, an international move is WAY different than a normal move, but that is a whole different story! I am here to share our love, knowledge and experiences of waldorf in the home including holistic toys, crafts and food. My goal is also to share helpful tips on natural parenting and healthy play.
